The Captive-Bred Striped Dottyback, also known as the Sankey’s Dottyback, is a beautiful black and white striped fish. With its striking color combination, transparent dorsal fin and edges of the caudal fin, it is no wonder why this species is highly sought-after amongst aquarists. Thanks to successful captive breeding programs, this species is now more easily available in home aquariums. With proper care, the Captive-Bred Striped Dottyback can make an excellent addition to any tank, providing a unique and aesthetically pleasing presence. In addition, they are relatively hardy, making them a great choice for the beginner aquarist.
A 30 gallon or larger aquarium with plenty of hiding places is the perfect environment for a Dottyback. Not only are they great for providing pest control, but they are also a great addition to any reef aquarium. Furthermore, if multiple Dottybacks are to be housed in the same aquarium, it is important to introduce them all at the same time and make sure there are plenty of hiding places in the rockwork. This will help prevent any aggressive behavior. Additionally, Dottybacks are hardy fish that are known to adapt quickly to their new environment.
