The Garibaldi Damsel is a very impressive fish to keep in any aquarium. It has a long lifespan of up to 25 years and can grow to a very large size. To accommodate this fish, an aquarium of at least 180 gallons is required with plenty of live rock for territories. It is important to note that these fish are extremely aggressive towards their own kind, so only one of this species should be kept in the same aquarium. Moreover, keeping the water temperature slightly cooler is beneficial for the health and wellbeing of this species.
The Garibaldi Damsel is sexually dimorphic and has a lobe on the front of the head. These fish have not been successfully bred in captivity.
