Double Saddle Butterflyfish

A 120 gallon or larger aquarium is the ideal environment for a butterflyfish. With plenty of space to swim, hiding places, and other butterflyfish, it is the perfect setup for a happy, healthy fish. However, it is important to note that a butterflyfish is not an acceptable addition to a reef tank, as it will feed on mushroom corals, anemones, and stony corals. For this reason, it is important to ensure that a butterflyfish is placed in the right tank and environment. With the right setup, a butterflyfish can thrive and bring lots of enjoyment to its aquarium.

The Double Saddle Butterflyfish should have a balanced diet which includes a variety of meaty items and vegetables. To ensure optimal health, the diet should be supplemented with frozen and live food. Additionally, the diet should be supplemented with algae-based foods for the best nutrition. Furthermore, to ensure the fish receives all the nutrients it needs, it is important to vary the diet and feed multiple times a day.

The approximate purchase size for our small, medium, and large designs are 1-1/2″, 2-1/4″, and 3-1/2″, respectively. The approximate purchase size for our x-large designs are 4-1/2″ – 6″.
