The Dilectis Dottyback, also known as the Sri Lanka Dottyback, is an attractive and popular saltwater fish that originates from the reefs of Sri Lanka. With its elongated, dark body and beautiful white accents, this species makes a great addition to any saltwater fish only or reef aquarium. Not only does this species provide an interesting and eye-catching presence, but its active nature and easy compatibility with other tank mates make it an ideal choice for aquarists of all levels. Additionally, the Dilectis Dottyback is a hardy species that is easy to care for and maintain.
The Dilectis Dottyback is an excellent addition to a saltwater aquarium of at least 30 gallons. This species thrives when provided with plenty of live rock for both hiding places and supplemental nutrition. After becoming accustomed to its new home, it will usually be found swimming in the open. For best results, only house one of these fish per aquarium, unless the aquarium is very spacious and they are introduced simultaneously. Furthermore, these fish may even help to reduce bristleworm populations in the tank. With the right care and attention, the Dilectis Dottyback can be a beautiful and beneficial addition to any aquarium.
The diet is designed to provide the best possible nutritional support for your aquarium fish. It includes meaty foods such as vitamin enriched brine and mysis shrimp, chopped fish and a quality flake food.
