The Clown Filefish is an incredibly hardy fish, and is known for its ability to peacefully coexist with other fish species. It is best suited for a 100-gallon or larger aquarium with plenty of live rock, and no invertebrates as it may prey on them. While this fish has a diet in the wild that includes algae, sponges, sea urchins, and mollusks, it is not suitable for a reef aquarium and should be kept in a fish-only tank. All in all, the Clown Filefish is a great addition to any fish-only aquarium with its unique color and behavior.
This diet for marine fish species should be composed of a variety of shaved shrimp, squid, scallop, mysis shrimp, freeze-dried krill soaked in a vitamin supplement, and frozen marine algae.
