This fish species requires a 125 gallon or larger aquarium with plenty of coral and rocks for refuge. It is an active, nocturnal species and spends most of its day hiding, but is known to move around in search of food at night. This species is relatively easy to care for and can be a great addition to any saltwater aquarium. With proper care, it can thrive and bring a unique beauty to your tank.

The Chain Eel requires 2 or 3 live meals per week, such as grass shrimp, fiddler crabs, and other types of crustaceans. If the Eel is not eating, try impaling frozen or live fish, krill, shrimp, or crustacean flesh on a feeder stick. This will help to make the food more attractive and stimulate the Eel’s appetite. Additionally, extra care should be taken to provide a variety of live food to ensure the Eel receives adequate nutrition. Furthermore, using the feeder stick to provide food to the Eel will help acclimate it to the environment.
