This fish can be a great addition to an aquarium given its ability to eat a wide variety of foods. When first introducing this species, live saltwater feeder shrimp should be used to entice it to eat. It will accept most meats, such as feeder fish, as well as any small inhabitants of the aquarium that it can be lured into its mouth with an esca. In addition, this species is known to swallow prey that is even its own size, making it a particularly voracious eater. With its impressive appetite, this fish can be a great addition to any aquarium.
