The Albino Snail is an incredible species and is part of the Ampullariidae family, also known as Pilidae. These snails are easily identifiable due to their unique siphon, which is located on the side of the shell, and is typically longer than the snail’s body. Additionally, the shells of these snails vary in color and pattern, but are usually pale yellow to white. With their strikingly beautiful and distinct features, the Albino Snail is a fascinating species to observe. Furthermore, the siphon is used to allow the snail to breathe while submerged and can be extended to the water surface. As a result, the Albino Snail is an incredible creature to witness in its natural habitat.

In their natural habitat, Albino Snails remain hidden in submerged vegetation during the day and become more active at night, sometimes leaving the water to search for fresh vegetation. These aquatic creatures are well-suited for life in an aquarium, provided that two to four inches of open air space is left above the water line. This open air space is necessary for the snails to breathe. Additionally, Albino Snails should not be housed with any other animals that may try to make a meal out of them, as they are very peaceful creatures. It is important to keep these factors in mind when considering housing Albino Snails in an aquarium.

Members of the Ampullariidae family are either male or female. The sex of a snail can be determined by examining the size of the animal, age, and whether the animal has been kept in the same environment. If the animal is fed the same foods, the female will be larger than the male. Eggs are laid in clutches, above the waterline on vegetation, and generally at night. Depending on the temperature, eggs hatch after two to three weeks. The young will eat the same diet as the adults.
